When I think back at my first smoothie - I think back to the era of Jamba Juice, is it still a thing? Not sure, but during my high school and college years, they had so many options and ways that you can build up your smoothies. Jamba Juice made things that you could not just create at home.
They had these high powered blender that can clearly slice and mush anything that comes its way. Up to recently, I associated smoothies to specialty stores or at the mall. But fast forward to recently, I too have been able to pool money into a high powered machine. My Vitamix, has allowed me to whip up almost anything from sauces, to dressing, ice-cream and you guessed it - smoothies.
My mom loves smoothies so much, that she specifically buys fruit and veggies to freeze for her smoothie - a brilliant move because thats the best way to make a smoothie. Frozen fruits allow for the smoothie to retain that icy texture, and allows the smoothie to stay cold.
Now a days I like to create them for post workout meals with Tru Supplements protein. Some blueberries and raspberries for antioxidants, and whala, you’ve got your self a drink. Enjoy!

- ½ Cup of Rasberries
- ½ scoop of Tru Protein
- 2 cups of Plant Based Milk or Water
- Add ingredients into your blender of choice
- Blend on high until smooth
- Add water/milk if you'd like it thinner
