Everyone has a want. Here is a guide to making your purchases worth it
It can be that converted pair of shoes or that IT bag. It be that tech gadget or a new camera lense. Buying items you don't necessarily NEED is not an end all be all. In fact, lusting over an item and working to obtain it is even a good thing. When you're constantly budgeting and trying to pay off debt, I think its important to take the time to treat yourself. Self control can only go so far, so I've added a new section to my side bar that displays the item that I'm working towards.
I love luxury items but I believe that purchasing an expensive item means that it was well thought. Here are some ways to get to purchasing your want.
1. Keep a Picture of It
Heck, make it your screen saver. Allow yourself to weigh all options when it comes to getting your pair of shoes. I like using apps like Pinterest or ShopTagr to keep all my lust worthy items in one place.
2. Budget for It
Well Duh. But by budget I mean, treat it as a bill! Take your income and give it a job. That job being, saving up for your grand purchase. My favorite method for budgeting is through the You Need A Budget app software. I love that you can create numerous categories to segment you money into. This allows you to breathe easy and allows your money to do the work.

3. Set a Timeline and Enjoy the Journey
Set a timeline! Tell yourself that in 4 months you will save enough to buy the lease that you really want. Its important to create this path to purchase. It allows you to really weight the pros and cons over time. It also helps you appreciate your item purchase.
