Cooking at home can help you maximize a budget by far. I believe eating out is truly what causes my budget to decrease exponentially. What is the reason for me eating out? The asthetic, the taste - eating is really a mood. Not to say that you shouldn't eat out - you should - but limiting it to a once a month or to a special occasion will make the moment even more special. Here are some items that helps me execute tasty, and eye please meals at home. 1. A High Powered Blender Fatimat - why would you spend mad money on a stupid blender? WELLLL SHERYL! LET ME TELL YOU. A high powered blender will give you a puree, a sauce, a dough, nut milk, nut butter, and ice-cream all in one AND its can ...

4 Affordable Valentine Day Ideas

Whether you're celebrating Valentine's Day or Single Awareness Day there are plenty of things you can do alone, with that friend or special someone when you're on a savings journey. It's easy to fall into the expectation and pressure to buy roses, gifts, and even jewelry for that someone. Personally, I think the first year you're with your partner you should do something nice like a light dinner or small gift. Always talk expectations with your partner before the 14th - that can get ugly and will be exactly when I make my exit. Hope these tips are helpful for you. Debt Pay Down: January '18 | $4000

Yes! The title says it all. I put $4000 towards my debt this year. Yes, it's a crazy amount. No, it's not a trick. Yes, it did take a lot of work. A couple of years ago, prior to me getting my own apartment, I did something similar - I was able to save enough to pay off all debts and have enough to put down 3 months rent and security deposit. I had wonderful financial independence and money in the bank to furnish my place as I pleased. But what happened to that 'freedom' was that in the back of my mind I saw the saved money as a cushion. Which it should, but it shouldn't be a readily available cushion. It should be that emergency cushion. The one you rely on after falling 100ft with ...

Why I Do Not Meal Prep & Which Dishes Can Be Cooked in Advance

Cliff Note: I like my food fresh You've seen the posts – bowls of a whole week of vegetables, macros, occasional meat from your bodybuilding buds. Now with the New Year, we're seeing more and more of this – even in the vegan community. When it started gaining popularity about a couple of years ago – I was amazed. Cook your food – pop it in the fridge, then forget it…until it was time to eat. I got caught up in the bodybuilding world – I miss it now as I sit here with my looser stomach. I did the cool exercises, had a plan when I went to the gym, had a trusty shake and had a proper meal plan. Paleo was my poison then I started incorporating more grains because, heck, I missed them. Next ...

Je Gbese Meaning

Hi There! Welcome to Je Gbese! Je Gbese is a word that I grew up with in Nigeria as well as with my parents while living in the Bronx. The literal translation means to "eat credit/debt". But that's too easy, right? It can mean "trouble" as well - since no one thinks having debt is a walk in a park - in fact, most Nigerians do not have debt - its common to pay a balance in full and if you're unable to afford it - you keep saving. Debt is often provided by not banks - but friends or family (some who aren't that patient). So we say gbese to mimic that financial woe. "Mo ti je gbese" - "I'm in trouble" "Gbeseeee!" - Troubleeeee! "Ma jin je gbese" - Don't stress me to fall for this Je ...
