Whether you're celebrating Valentine's Day or Single Awareness Day there are plenty of things you can do alone, with that friend or special someone when you're on a savings journey. It's easy to fall into the expectation and pressure to buy roses, gifts, and even jewelry for that someone. Personally, I think the first year you're with your partner you should do something nice like a light dinner or small gift. Always talk expectations with your partner before the 14th - that can get ugly and will be exactly when I make my exit.
Hope these tips are helpful for you. Let me know what you've done in the past make the day memorable.
4. Wine and a Massage
Now, this may get a bit more frisky if you all are consenting adults! But whats wrong with getting some 2 Buck Chuck from Trader Joes and swapping turns to give each other back massages. I've been guilty of recommending the idea then not returning the favor...but keep it a secret until you've secured your spot as the first to receive. The best part of the solo life is you get to finish the bottle of wine yourself.

Me pretending I'm actually going to give a massage in return
3. Gym/Workout Together
Opposite of finishing a bottle of wine is exercising...maybe. But if you already have a membership to a gym, see if you can sign up for 2 spots to a strength training or high impact cardio class. Whats love without blood, sweat, and tears. Grab a smoothie after class and complain together how much you loved/mostly hated the class.
2. Movie Date
This month is so hot for movies, and when I say movies, I mean the Black Panther! Yes, Black Panther comes a little after Valentine's day, but it's okay to push it out a day or 2. I wouldn't be mad for waiting a day or two for Wakanda. Yes, you can Netflix and Chill but what difference does it make from the night before? Bloop!

Black Panther is a must watch
1. Cook Dinner Together
Food is the way to any person's belly. Food cooked with love is the way to somebody's belly heart. Now that's profound. Though not necessary to plan ahead, it would help to know what spices or appliances one has on hand depending on who's spot you go to. If you both live together - problem solved. If both of you have skills other than boiling super rolling water, then you're in for a good night. Just make a plan to go to the supermarket beforehand, then go home and go at it.

Vegan options are always available
Well, those are some easy options to do on this money hungry holiday! Enjoy, be safe, and be merry.
