5 Things I Learned at the Clever Girl Finance Book Launch

5 Things I Learned at the Clever Girl Finance Book Launch

The book launch of Bola Sokunbi at Clever Girl Finance was one of the best talks and panels that I’ve been at in a long time. The room was full of dope women with financial and career acumen that would make you say wow! I purchased her book, and hope to apply it to my financial lifestyle.

I’ve been following Bola for sometime now, my name is also Bola 🙂 And meeting her, I love that she doesn’t skimp on luxury. Luxury is often a struggle with me because I feel so much guilt spending money. However there is a time a place for it. I learned that it should not be a rat race especially when it comes to saving.

Trini Jackfruit Vegan Pastelles

Trini Jackfruit Vegan Pastelles

The first time I was introduced to Moi Moi was by my dear friend Heather. I went over to her house in which she hosted me with some Pastelles. I was hesitant at first – I thought it was fermented corn with no filling. But she insisted. And it was one bite heaven. I believe I ate two that day.

I asked for the recipe and made sure that I had all the steps needed to go home and recreate it!

After Three Years of Sephora’s VIB Rouge, Here is Where I Plan to Purchase My Makeup

Sephora’s VIB Rouge is certainly a feat to accomplish. Three years in a row is impressive. In order to to get this “elite” status, you would need to purchase $1000 USD worth of product.

Hear me out here. This was a time when I was trying to get better acquainted with skincare, and when beauty gurus were SELLING the product. How can I watch Jackie Aina and not get tempted to run and get a foundation to match my skin to a T!

How to Eat at Home More Often

How to Eat at Home More Often

Convenience is so prominent in our lives! Food, a quick tap-tap will have food at your doorsteps in a matter of 30 mins. Laundry can be dropped off or picked up, only to appear cleaned and folded in a matter of a day or two. Coffee? You can find that on almost every corner in a major city or within your driving route to work.

For this post, I want to focus on the first part, food delivery, and restaurant dining. Growing up, restaurants were meant for special occasions, birthdays, graduations to name a few. When I started my first office job, dinners were a convenience downtown rather than eating once I got uptown. Happy Hours were a given and my bank account felt the bulk of the pain.
